At OCS, our high school students have a unique opportunity to participate in Friday field learning and service experiences that enhance and expand their knowledge of the material presented in the classes they are taking and other significant cultural, historical, spiritual, and scientific realms of value. These trips are designed to be highly educational, highly engaging, and as an opportunity to determine the interests, gifts, and strengths God has given them for their current and future callings and careers. In some cases, the experience is worthy all on its own as a learning opportunity.
Approximately 50% of our Fridays at the high school are spent in field learning activities, approximately 35% are spent in service, and 15% are regular school days.
It is the heart of Odessa Christian High School to not only train students academically, but also to be sensitive to the Lord’s calling and the ministry opportunities he gives us every day of our lives to live out our faith in very real and practical ways.
Just as Jesus explained to the expert in the law in the parable of the Good Samaritan, we desire to “Go and do likewise.” (Luke 10:37b)
