Dear OCS Families,

Good evening! I pray everyone is doing well. You are all VERY GREATLY MISSED! It is time for an update, which includes learning goals and assignments for the next two weeks, which you can read more about here on the school webpage for your convenience.

Quick note: This is a long email. It has good information, but if you want the short version and don’t really care about the how, what, why, etc., then skip to the end and read the bullet points in the box. That’s the meat!

We have not received any...

Dear OCS,

Happy Monday! I pray you are all well and getting into the new normal of academic learning at home. We are working hard to make it as seamless as possible, and have been working on tweaking the current plan to make it even better for our students and families. I will be sure to share that with you once the faculty and I have been able to solidify those updates.

Quarter 3 report cards are now available on Family Portal, and you can access those by logging into Family Portal>Student>Report Card.

Dear Parents,

I pray our students – your kiddos – and you, are off to a great start with our Remote Learning Plan.

I want to send a little encouragement your way this afternoon. First, this is a new schedule for your kids (and probably you, too!) and completely out of the routine, so allow yourselves some grace. That said, don’t let it get away from you, either! Secondly, and probably most importantly, your child has all the tools/skills necessary to access the materials being shared. In most cases, your students have already been using the tech tools and learning processes now being utilized from home

Dear OCS,

Well, as far as I know, we all survived our first day of our Remote Learning Plan! Hooray!

Now let’s just get back to regular school. If only…

In all seriousness, you were all sorely missed today! I popped in virtually on “office hours” for Professor and it was nice to see all who took advantage of that. Please feel free to tune in with any questions at all for each faculty member during their office hours...

Remote Learning Plan Explained; Campus closed until 4/15/20 at earliest with RLP in full effect

Dear OCS Families,

Tomorrow starts our official Remote Learning Period, and, as much as we would MUCH rather be together in person with our students on campus, we have been working very diligently to make a cohesive, complete, reasonable plan to continue student learning while off site. Learning occurs ALL THE TIME, and our students have already been equipped with many of the tools they need for this...

COVID-19 School Closure; Classes continue at OCS via our Remote Learning Plan (RLP)

Dear OCS Families,

I apologize in advance for the following long email, but I want to be sure to cover all the bases. Bear with me!

The Florida Department of Education has provided the directive for all public school districts in Florida to close schools for the next two weeks due to concerns over the coronavirus. We at OCS have evaluated these concerns and have prayerfully determined to also close campus for the next two weeks, through March 27th, with the plan of school reopening on March 30th...
